Baybean ( Canavalia rosea (Sw.) DC.); organogenesis, morphological and anatomical studies Gayana Botánica
Mohajer,Sadegh; Taha,Rosna Mat; Mohamed,Normadiha; Razak,Ummi Nur Abdul.
ABSTRACT Morphological and anatomical studies comprised leaf venation, histological analysis and epidermal peeling were carried out on Canavalia rosea (Sw.) DC.). Anatomical studies of the leaf and root determined the presence of cuticle and oil glands, arrangement of cells and the structure of vascular system. The dorsiventral leaf with pinnate venation and amphistomatic leaf with paracytic type stomata were embedded below the epidermis. Trichomes and oil glands were also observed on both adaxial and abaxial surfaces of leaf. Longitudinal sections of the callus showed the existence of meristematic cells, which could give rise to plant regeneration. In the process of organogenesis, adventitious shoots emerged from leaf and stem explants within 2 months...

In vitro shoot regeneration from roots and leaf discs of Passiflora cincinnata mast. BABT
Lombardi,Simone Pacheco; Passos,Ilene Ribeiro da Silva; Nogueira,Maria Cristina Stolf; Appezzato-da-Glória,Beatriz.
Different concentrations of 6-benzyladenine (6-BA) were used in vitro to induce buds in three types of explants: leaf discs, root segments and the seedling itself obtained from in vitro seed germination of Passiflora cincinnata Mast. The 0.5 mg.L -1 6-BA concentration was most suitable for all the three explants, however, bud formation time and means (direct/indirect) were different for each type of explant. In seedlings used as explants, it had shoot regeneration from the primary root. Histological events leading to bud formation via meristemoids were described. The origin was indirect in leaf discs, with callus formation in subepidermal cells of the chlorophyll parenchyma layers. In root segments and in seedling roots,...

Plant growth regulators optimization for in vitro cultivation of the orchid Guarianthe skinneri (Bateman) Dressier & W.E.Higgins Gayana Botánica
Coello,Christian Yanelly; Miceli,Clara Luz; Orantes,Carolina; DenDooven,Luc; Gutiérrez,Federico Antonio.
An in vitro culture procedure was developed to induce shoots and roots of Guarianthe skinneri (Orchidaceae) plantlets regenerated from seed-derived protocorms on a Murashige and Skoog (MS) médium supplemented with 6-benzyladenine (BA), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), a-naftalenacetic acid (NAA) and gibberellic acid (GA3). A máximum of 10.6 shoots was obtained with 16.1 μM NAA, 17.1 μM IAA, 6.3 x 10-9 μM GA3 and 0.0023 μM BA. A máximum of 4.0 roots on each shoot with 5.4 μM NAA, 17.1 μM IAA, 0.001 μM AG3 and 4.6 x 10-9 μM BA. Máximum shoot and root length was obtained with a minimum of GA3, but a máximum IAA. GA3, was the main factor controlling shoot and...
